Painting this mandala meditation cup was a great joy and an unexpected relaxing experience, too. To begin with, I am in love with mandalas so I did a little research before.
As you may know, mandala means circle, like the circle of life, or any other interpretation that suits your personal life.
Mandala designs represent infinite wholeness. They look like a cosmic diagram, intended to remind us of our relationship with infinity within our bodies and minds.
Mandalas are used in mediation to help people achieve higher concentration states by looking and focusing on this beautiful design.

The Mandala Meditation Cup And The Colour Therapy

I decided to try this theory, but in a more diverse way, with the mandala meditation cup, and here is how it went.
When I first looked at the cup it seemed to have a lot of patterns and I though it would become boring to paint all of it. But as I started to paint and choose the colors I quickly became absorbed by the different lines leading to different directions.

After doing some research about colors, I realized that this cup is not only beneficial because of the mandala diagram but also because of color therapy. There are energies relating to each of the spectrum colors of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet, with the seven main chakras.

Color therapy can help to re-balance or stimulate the energies of the chakras, which are key for health and wellness, by applying the appropriate color to the body and thus balancing the chakras.
I then thought it would be interesting to see what the colors I was most attracted to whilst painting meant. My favourite were Magenta and Turquoise, although I made sure to balance out the colors on my cup.

Color Code And Wellfulness

Magenta is the color of transformation, it heals melancholy, hysteria and brings spiritual insight and renewal. It brings sleep and soothes mental and emotional stress, as well as helps in detoxification. It strengthens contact with your life purpose and stimulates adrenaline and heart activity. Apparently being attracted to magenta means that there is a lot of energy concentrated on achieving power and self-realisation, strong but controlled passion and emotions.

Turquoise increases intuition and sensitivity, relaxes sensations of stress, tones the general system and has disinfecting and antiseptic connections. People attracted to turquoise usually don’t immediately bring to the surface what goes on in them, as emotions remain hidden. It’s a color for non-triviality, renewal, innovation and inventions, progressive technics, alternative ways of living together, humanity.

Benefits of Painting a Mandala Meditation Cup

Painting the mandala cup has definitely helped me to know myself better, but also to concentrate better. I personally wasn’t able to meditate whilst painting the mug, this is probably because I am not as experienced. But I was definitely able to increase my concentration levels.
If you want to find out more about yourself and improve meditation skills then I would definitely recommend using this mandala cup.
